Houston, October 14, 2009 --- Nine new Blausen Medical individual atlas iPhone apps --- Cancer, Circulatory, Digestive, Immune, Nervous, Pediatric, Reproductive, Skeletal and Urinary --- can now be purchased independently in the iTunes App Store, without requiring prior purchase of the Blausen Human Atlas 2.1. Previously, iPhone or iTouch users had to have downloaded the Blausen Human Atlas App to buy individual Blausen Atlases using Apple's "In App" purchase option. Now customers can buy just the individual atlases they want.
The new individual atlases provide greatly expanded content versus what is contained in the same related topic area within the Human Atlas 2.1. For example, in the new individual Cancer Atlas there are 49 individual 3D animations on subjects directly related to the disease, more than four times the number in that area in the general Human Atlas 2.1. In addition to the animations, and as found in all Blausen Medical Atlas apps, a searchable Medical Glossary and related still images are also provided.
Commenting on these latest additions to the Blausen Medical In-store inventory, Blausen Founder and CEO, Bruce Blausen, said, "This is just the beginning of our roll out of what will be 15 individual atlas iPhone apps. Soon, we will add six more --- Ear, Endocrine, Eye, Muscular, Respiratory and Skin. At a price range of $3.99- $4.99 each, doctors, nurses, patients or just interested consumers, can easily and affordably purchase the specific atlas that best meet their specific practice needs or interest. And the amount of specific subject-related information provided is incredible, much more than what is included in the same related topic area within the Human Atlas 2.1."
Blausen Medical Communications, developer and owner of the world's largest library of medical animations, will continue to add to its line of individual iPhone apps. Coming soon, multiple language versions will be available, the first one to be Spanish.
