New app specifically designed for use with A&P textbooks from leading authors: Martini, Saladin, Tortora, Marieb and Seeley-Stephens-Tate.

HOUSTON (April 23, 2012) - Blausen Medical, developer and owner of the world's largest library of 3D medical animations, has announced its new <a href="http://bit.ly/HTdTpm"target="_blank">A&P Supplement iPad app is now available in Apple's iTunes App Store. The Blausen A&P Supplement app is an award winning educational resource tool that helps students learn complex science concepts at the highest level. This rich media asset (RMA) app is specifically designed to be used in conjunction with textbooks from authors: Martini, Saladin, Tortora, Marieb and Seeley-Stephens-Tate. The Blausen A&P Supplement app contains approximately 1,000 3D animations, with accompanying narration and illustrations, organized in the same 29 chapter pedagogy as the most widely used textbooks. It can, however, be used as an excellent learning resource with ANY A&P textbook.

The app is ideal for premed, nursing, allied health and bioscience students. Unlike other A&P apps, it does NOT replace the textbook, but instead complements it. It does NOT contain extensive text.

The Blausen A&P Supplement app was developed in part by graduates of The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, The University of Illinois, and The University of Texas. It was derived from the world's largest 3D medical animation library and is unparalleled in its depth and breadth of content. The app takes maximum advantage of the iPad's higher resolution and larger screen to provide students and professors a lavish, dynamic visual environment in which to engage and learn.

Commenting on the new app Bruce Blausen, Founder and CEO, said "For years students have struggled through learning the sometimes very complex concepts presented in the A&P curriculum. Now with our A&P Supplement app, they will have a way to bring each body system alive to accelerate and reinforce their comprehension of skeletal muscle contraction, heart conduction, nerve impulse and all the other concepts. Importantly, this lavish rich media content is presented in the same 29 chapter pedagogy as the textbooks they will be using, so they will be able to track directly to and with their textbooks."

In addition to the approximately 1,000 3D animation videos, the Blausen A&P Supplement includes:

Searchable medical glossary with approximately 1,850 terms

Detailed illustrations derived from the animations

Multiple choice quizzes after each chapter subject

Drag and Drop labeled illustrations

Over 100 rotatable models

The Blausen A&P Supplement is a dynamic and engaging learning tool that has no equal. It represents a new way of learning science and, hopefully, will make a difference for those seeking a higher educational level. The goal of Blausen Medical is to provide students and professors the BEST visual resource in the world.

Three Web Health Awards, Two eHealth Leadership Awards and an ABBY win reflect continuing recognition of Blausen content, web and mobile applications.

Houston, January 20, 2012 --- 2011 was a record-setting year for Blausen Medical Communications, developer and owner of the world’s largest library of 3D medical animations. The Company won six major international medical communications awards, one more than its previous yearly high. The awards included three Web Health Awards, two zeHealth Leadership Awards and the prestigious ABBY Award.

The annual Web Health Awards program recognizes the nation's best digital health communication resources and providers. Blausen Human Atlas iPad and iPhone apps were recognized among more than 500 entries and judged by a panel of distinguished experts in digital health media.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program reviews the very best websites of healthcare organizations (both large and small), online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers and business improvement initiatives. The Blausen awards recognized the Company’s excellence in both web use and mobile communication apps.

The Adaptive Business Leaders (ABL) Organization recognized Blausen Medical and its Human Atlas iPhone and iPad apps, as one of only four international winners of the Organization's 2011 ABBY Awards. The ABBY’s honor companies which have developed ways to lower the cost of providing quality healthcare through medical or information technologies, or innovative approaches to the delivery of healthcare.

"The year 2011 was almost an embarrassment of riches in the number and quality of awards we won for our content, applications and, in the case of the ABBY, the actual cost saving benefits we deliver," said Bruce Blausen, Founder and CEO of Houston-based Blausen. "While we are not in this for the awards, it is nice to see the industry professionals judging these events recognize our Blausen efforts. We are, however, not resting on these laurels, but actually have several major development initiatives coming out this year, which I believe will have major impact in healthcare and scientific education categories."

Blausen: Mike Hensgen (mhensgen@blausen.com) 713-334-6722)

Houston, January 6, 2012 --- Recognizing January as National Glaucoma Awareness Month, Blausen Medical Communications, developer and owner of the world's largest library of 3D medical animations, is featuring two glaucoma-related animations on its Blausen Group Facebook page during the month. The two animations, Glaucoma and Glaucoma Drugs, are derived from the Blausen library. They explain the general anatomy of the eye, how glaucoma occurs, and what medication may be used to treat this condition.

National Glaucoma Awareness Month is supported directly by the Glaucoma Research Foundation, a national non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for glaucoma. Founded in 1978 in San Francisco, the Foundation funds glaucoma research world-wide. Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness. It is estimated that over 2.2 million Americans have glaucoma, but only half of those know they have it.

Commenting on National Glaucoma Awareness Month and the month-long addition of related animations to the Blausen Group Facebook page, Bruce Blausen, Founder and CEO of Houston-based Blausen, said, "Glaucoma is a stealthy disease that may exhibit no symptoms to warn someone who has it, or is developing it. While there is no cure for it and vision lost cannot be regained, with medication and/or surgery, it is possible to halt further loss of vision. That's why awareness and regular eye examinations are so necessary. We believe we are doing our small part to further the awareness part of that by featuring our glaucoma animations on our Facebook page."

World AIDS Campaign and World AIDS DayRecognized with AIDS-Related Animation on Blausen Medical Communications Facebook Page

Houston, December 1, 2011 --- In recognition and support of the World AIDS Campaign and December 1 World AIDS Day, Blausen Medical Communications, developer and owner of the world’s largest library of medical animations, will feature a 3D video animation explaining AIDS on its Blausen Group Facebook page during December. The animation, one of over 300 in the Blausen library, explains how AIDS develops within and affects the body’s immune system.

The World AIDS Campaign goal is to insure that governments and policy makers meet the HIV targets they set, the commitments they make, and mobilize the necessary resources for a world where people do not die of AIDS and other opportunistic infections. The Campaign collaborates with a diverse range of communities, organizations and most affected populations, including, but not limited to people living with HIV, sex workers, homosexuals, drug users, and others. Presently, over 33 million are living with AIDS worldwide, 1.1 million of them in the United States.

The United States supports a wide range of activities-from research and development to technical assistance and financial support to other nations-to combat the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, including President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief PEPFAR and other U.S. government global HIV/AIDS activities .

Bruce Blausen, Founder and CEO of Houston-based Blausen, said, “According to the prestigious Kaiser Family Foundation, someone in the world dies from AIDS/HIV every 9 ½ minutes. Although overwhelmingly concentrated in geographies outside the United States, it is terrible disease and one for which appropriately strong prevention and treatment efforts are being undertaken. Given our Company’s mission to alleviate fears and concerns of patients worldwide, we felt that sharing our AIDS animation this December was very appropriate.”

About World AIDS Campaign

The World AIDS Campaign’s commitment to diversity and partnership, especially with those living with HIV and the regions hardest hit by the epidemic, is reflected in its Global Steering Committee. This group is made up of nominees from some of the most affected populations. The World AIDS Campaign’s relationship with the Global Network of People living with HIV (GNP+) is also of major strategic importance. The epidemic disproportionally affects the people of Sub-Saharan Africa and much of the developing world, therefore the organization commits the majority of its resources to those regions.

Informed and strengthened by its links with the world’s major HIV and health movements, the World AIDS Campaign’s main office operates from South Africa, with the support of additional expert staff in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Europe and North America. The World AIDS Campaign specializes in promoting the skills, knowledge and strategies required to successfully campaign, advocate and lobby on universal access.

Recognized for Best Web 2.0 and Best Mobile Communications; follows November Bronze win at 13th Annual Web Health Awards

Houston, November 15, 2011 --- Blausen Medical, developer and owner of the world's largest library of 3D medical animations, was honored as a leader in providing internet excellence for clients at the 15th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference November 7-9 in Orlando, Florida. Competing within a field of over 1,200 entries, Houston-based Blausen won Platinum in both the Best Web 2.0 and Best Mobile Communications categories. Both categories reflect the growing use and effectiveness of rich media content and healthcare websites.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program reviews the very best websites of healthcare organizations (both large and small), online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers and business improvement initiatives. The awards highlight the Internet's role in achieving an organization's business objectives and recognize the expertise and effort that goes into creating outstanding health websites.

The two eHealthcare awards follow the earlier November Bronze win Blausen garnered for its Human Atlas iPad app in the 13th Annual Web Health Awards competition. Bruce Blausen, Founder and CEO of Houston-based Blausen commented, "We're very pleased to have our work recognized among some of the most prestigious organizations and their websites in the world. My belief has always been that rich media in the form of animations and creative use of interactivity dramatically increases a website's, and for that matter a mobile application's, effectiveness. The continuing award-winning recognition our content receives reflects the growing importance of rich media within the healthcare communications, and the Blausen leadership place within it.
